I visited this site recently and it looked like nothing has been updated or maintained since 2004.  Too bad, it was a good website.  Some of the information on it is still usable so I've left the link for the time being.

An insane amount of information, literally thousands of links and you'll want to check out most of them. 

A list of sites that provide resources for specific instruments

specific resources.)  You'll find lots of lessons, tab, forums

and more on these sites.

Want to know who recorded or wrote a particular song?  Want a full list of an artists releases?  I've been registered at the All MusicGuide for several years and it's proven itself time and time again to be an invaluable resource.  Sort of a comprehensive dictionary of recorded music including 30 second samples so you can be sure you found the right thing.  They have the largest database of this kind anywhere - period.  I haven't stumped them yet!

 

You can use it without registering but you get all the full features with your free registration and I haven't gotten a single spam message out of them yet.   I linked here to the site guide page that gives you the straight poop on the newest site update.

There's some information on Music Publishing here - mostly to do with the current lawmaking efforts.  They're proponants of the licensing of music websites.  There's a very good paper on the effects of piracy here.

The Muse's Muse has a goldmine of information on it.  This link is for their Songwriting Articles page.  2/3rds of the way down onthe left you'll find links for 4 very useful articles on Publishing.
