• Musicians United Resources is an International Community of Musicians and Music fans
• MUR started as an MSN Group - it is now both an open Website (here) and a group on Multiply.  To reap maximum benefit from MUR, join our Multiply Group as well. 
• Any music or other intellectual property posted on this website is posted at the request of the owner.  If you find your intellectual property rights are violated on this site or the Multiply Group, please contact the webmaster with the contact form below.  Give the exact locations of such property and why it is a violation and it will be promptly removed. 
• There are links that lead off of the website here.  Neither the management of this site nor SynthaSite is responsible for any content contained there.  If you notice something objectionable directly linked to the site, notify the webmaster.  The situation will be investigated and offensive links removed.
• All music and other intellectual property posted, whether it is available to be downloaded or enjoyment on the site, is furnished for your personal use only.  It may not be shared, sold or otherwise transferred without the specific written permission of the owner.

Musicians United Resources Rules -

These rules apply to all Musicans United Resources Sites, Groups and affiliated Sites and Groups

1.  No Spamming of Members in any way shape or form.  Posting links to singles, dating, porn or other sites that have nothing to do with music will be considered spamming as many members have messages sent directly to their in boxes.  Promotional postings for members' music will not be considered spamming as music promotion is one of the primary purposes for this group.  See rule 8 for more information.

2.  No sexually suggestive, violent or political content please.  This includes your profile and nickname. "G" rating zone. 

3.  Treat all other members with respect - no insult zone.

4.  Review boards are for actual reviews.  "Dis Sux!" is not a review.  Critique the work, not the person.

5.  Members who post music on this group do so with the agreement that they will only post music they own all rights to and assume all liability associated to files they post or cause to be posted.  They maintain ownership of these files and all associated rights.  They may remove it at any time.  While it is here, it will be posted in a format that will allow members to download it for personal use.  By posting this music, the members agree to allowing this personal use for free, with no expectation of renumeration.

6.  It is strongly suggested that email addresses be hidden in profile setting in MUR affiliated Groups to discourage spammers and hackers.

7.  Copyrighted material will not be posted on this group except by permission of the owner and/or following their policy for use.  Such permission and/or use policies will be communicated to the management at the time of posting.

8. Nothing is to be sold on the MUR network sites and groups.  If a link is provided to another group or website where cd's or other merchandise is sold, no mention will be made of pricing or sales on this group. The words "available here" are acceptable.  It is assumed that most musician members will make arrangements off of this site to conduct commercial business.  "How to" links and tutorials are excepted from this rule for purposes of demonstration only.

9.  Music located on MUR sites and groups is available for download by members for THEIR OWN PERSONAL USE ONLY.  Any other use or redistribution is strictly prohibited without the written permission of the copyright holder(s).

10.  All webspace provider guidelines, agreements and terms of use will be followed on MUR affiliated sites and groups with no exceptions.

11.  There is no warranty, implied or express that membership in this group will do anything for you.  Management is merely providing the vehicle for sharing, mutual assistance and collaboration amongst it's members.  This group, it's management and webspace providers are not responsible for content at link destinations.

VIOLATIONS OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN -

A - Removal of violating post

B - Warning

C - Cancellation of membership

D - Banning of member

E - Reporting to webspace providers and/or Law Enforcement when deemed appropriate.

 - entirely at Managements' discretion. 

Updates to rules will be posted on all affiliated sites/groups.

A brief comment about free speech - I strongly believe in free speech.  It is a fundamental human right.  This is privately owned web-space.  The provider allows me to use and manage this space.  Think of it as my apartment.  I have a right to limit the subject matter of discussion in my home and place rules on the courtesy of my guests.  If you want to participate in a free-for-all, act in an uncouth manner or engage in flaming or heated political discussions, there are plenty of places on the web where this is allowed.  This is not one of them.  Just as I have a right to throw an unruly guest out of my apartment,  I have the same right to terminate the membership of unruly members.
